CASE STUDY 3
 Company:
iChoose Software:
The iChoose Savings Alert
Scenario: iChoose
was founded in April 1999 with a simple goal. To revolutionise
e-commerce on the Web. Their vision: to create an online savings
alert that would bring consumers and e-retailers together in
ways never before imagined and not possible in the physical
world. iChoose first contacted
us in December 1999, and summed-up their main requirements as
follows:
- to promote their
software on all of the major download sites
- to have a one-stop
shop for these submissions and updates
- to be able to monitor
and follow-up these activities as needed
Strategy: We became the one-stop
solution that iChoose were looking for. As well as continuously
submitting each new version of the iChoose software to almost
100 shareware sites, following these up as necessary, and announcing
each release to all relevant newsgroups, we were also able to
advise iChoose on some of the practicalities involved. Results:
The results were fantastic! We were fortunate to be working with
a very "sellable" product, and the popularity
of the software spread like wildfire. Within a few months,
iChoose was being featured on the websites and newsletters of some
of the biggest names in the industry, including ZDNet, CNET's Shareware
Dispatch, Jumbo's Product of the Day, Quality-Shareware's File
of the Month and more. The iChoose Savings Alert was getting the
attention it deserved. "Thank you, Reach Promotions,
for the excellent work. We have seen great reviews of our online
savings alert software on many of the top download and editorial
sites on the Web as a result of your efforts. I would certainly
recommend your service to any developers out there looking for
results."
Chris Jackson, iChoose
Please note: This
case study was originally written for our parent organisation,
SharewarePromotions, which focuses more on download sites and
submissions. Reach Promotions is a suitable alternative for
developers who choose not to use the shareware marketing method.
